4th of July Weekend

We had the best weekend!!

On Friday Baker completed his 2 weeks of swimming lessons! He is fearless in the water, almost to the point of being scary! We've still got some work to do but hoping he catches on fully soon!

I wrote all about our swim lesson experience over at The Dive Spot for the Abilene Post.

On Saturday we painted Baker's room! Yay! It sat half painted for an entire year. Austin started painting it last June before we had carpet installed, we've just had some much going on that his room took a back burner. I'm happy to report that it is done! Now it's time to decorate!

Saturday evening we borrowed a neighbors pool to cool off! I didn't take any pictures but trust me, we had fun!

On Sunday we joined our friends Jenna and Kody for some country fireworks.

The boys took turns throwing rocks in the water.

We made S'mores.

Baker tried out a few sparklers! He was a big fan!

On Monday morning, we joined our neighborhood for a parade. How cute, right?! I love that our little neighborhood celebrates the fourth of July together. It was hot and we were extremely sweaty but we had the BEST time!

The parade ended with a big neighborhood cook out.

It was so much fun to meet new friends! I'm a big fan of gatherings that create a sense of community. I completely adore our neighborhood!

Baker even won a prize for our wagon.

We ended our afternoon cooling off in the pool. Baker was the only boy and enjoyed the attention of all the teenage girls! They were incredibly kind to him and let him tag along for all their fun.

Doesn't he look like he was enjoying himself?

Well that wraps up our weekend!

Hope everyone had a happy 4th of July!
