West Texas Fair and Rodeo Parade

The West Texas Fair and Rodeo was last week in Abilene.  We had the best time taking our kids to do all the events. We started with the parade. I was really impressed and so was Baker. He loved waving at all of the bands and floats. There was almost an hour of entertainment and since we sat at the beginning we caught the parade on the return too!

In true Abilene fashion, the parade started with Hardin Simmon's six white horses.

There were lots of horses and tractors.

Baker loved all of the fire trucks.

And a firetruck with a cowboy hat and mustache.

This safety man was a bit scary...

But my favorite part was the Hardin Simmons band.

They all stop and high-fived Baker and he LOVED IT.

And no west Texas parade is complete without the Schwan's man truck!

  2. That looks like our kind of parade!! We love going to look at old tractors. And I agree, the safety man looked a bit scary. Sometimes I wonder if they think about the smaller children! Our Shriners folks sometimes creep me out!
